Vapo or Bruninho, as he became popularly known among the Brazilian public, made his official debut earlier this year with the track “Sirius”. Prior to that, the rapper was a semi-finalist on the fourth season of the survival show High School Rapper, where he performed as a Brazilian for a panel of judges including Simon Dominic, Jay Park and pH-1. Also on the show, Heo Wonhyuk scored the hit “Meu  Tempo” with the participation of rapper BIBI, who has already accumulated more than 5 million views on YouTube.

The Korean-Brazilian rapper made his comeback on April 8 with the single “Gone” in partnership with Loco, one of his mentors on the reality show. INTERVIEW

Hello, Vapo! This is K4US, first of all we would like to thank you for accepting our interview. We hope to act as a bridge between you and your Brazilian and international fans through this interview. Also, we hope you have a good time answering the following questions.

We would like to know what was your source of inspiration to write the single “Gone”?

My inspiration for this last single “Gone” was from a phase of my life, where I had a bad ending with a person I loved.

Could you tell us how the idea came and how it was to record the MV of “Gone”?

The idea basically came from a phrase in my lyrics that “시간이 멈춰버렸어 늘 looking my phone right now” which says that it felt like time had stopped for me, because of the breakup. Then came the idea of producing a time-related video clip.

During High School Rapper, Loco was one of your mentors. And, even though some fans really wished for a collab during reality, it didn’t happen at that time. However, we would like to know what made you invite the rapper to participate in this new single and how the process happened?

The reason was basically that I always wanted to do something with my mentor Loco during 고등래퍼4, but I didn’t get a chance to do something together back then. But one thing he always said is that after the program if you need any help etc we could always count on him! So this time I took advantage of the fact that this song would match the style of music and the tone that he has.

The teaser of “Gone” was published on their social networks and a comment caught our attention. Blackswan member Leia left a comment saying that she was supposed to be in the MV. Can you tell us what happened so this participation didn’t happen?

About Leia I prefer not to comment because it’s something we can’t talk about directly, but she should be in the M/V if everything worked out as a main model.

We noticed that you keep mixing Portuguese, English and Korean in your lyrics. We can say that this has become your differential within the Korean industry. What is it like for you to rap in three different languages? Is it something you’ve gotten used to or does it still take a while to fit each word/phrase into place?

Oh, for me it’s much cooler to write the lyrics in 3 different languages, even easier in my case of course, because I got used to writing like that from the beginning. As for whether I take the time to write the lyrics or finish the song, I believe it always makes a difference what style of music I’m doing at the moment.

Some Weeks ago you mentioned in one of your social media posts that you would like to do a concert in Brazil. Can we wait for this to happen in 2022?

Wow, I really wanted to do this show in Brazil, I wish it was July..?  Will it work?

Sirius was your official debut after the program and it was a different song compared to what your fans were used to hearing from your productions. At any moment you felt insecure or afraid of the public not linking the song?

I didn’t have it, because all the songs that I released, I just release them for my public with the certainty that the sound, the song is good. I don’t pretend to bring any song that is bad to my fans but just things with good quality.

What do you expect reaching with the launching of your newest single?

I just want it to reach as many audiences as possible, it’s a song that gives all my feelings of the moment, sadness, anger and so on. This was one of the songs that marked my life, so I want a lot of people to be able to hear and understand my feeling of that moment. If the public has an event like mine, which they can feel it together, because music is for that, right? Suffer, rejoice, feel several things in a song.

After some time, we are very happy to see that your TikTok account has finally been reactivated. Now, as an artist, how do you intend to use the social network?

In fact, I don’t separate myself from Bruninho/Vapo, I’ve always been one person and I will always be one person, so I’ll do everything the public likes and the things I like to do!

LET’S PLAY!

We would like to play a game with you! Answer these questions with the first things that come to your head.
