HERE WE GO! The K4US Annual Awards (PAK) 2022 has just released, this Monday (07), the complete list of nominees for its fourth edition, with the awarding of awards scheduled for the next December 17th. Among the highlights are Stray Kids, NewJeans, J-Hope and “Tomorrow”, one of the most watched dramas this year.

Among the top k-pop categories, under Song of the Year, fans can find names like: SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, (G)-IDLE, J-Hope, Red Velvet, Enhypen and STAYC. For TV and streaming, the nominees for K-drama of the Year are “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, “Alchemy of Souls”, “Happiness”, “Tomorrow”, “The Red Sleeve”, “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” “Our Beloved Summer”, “Our Blues”, “Through the Darkness” and “A Business Proposal”. 

This year, Stray Kids stood out for being the group with the most nominations, adding five in total. Which are: Best Male Group, Song of the Year (“Maniac”), MV of the Year (“Maniac”), Choreography of the Year (“Maniac”) and Most Requested Show in 2023. 

In addition to Stray Kids, another group that gained prominence in the PAK 2022 nominations was NewJeans. The group debuted this year and has gained thousands of fans around the world. As a result, the following categories were nominated: Debut of the Year, Song of the Year (“Attention”) and Choreography of the Year (“Attention”). 

And this year the soloists came out on top at PAK2022! Sunmi stands out in three categories with the hit “Heart Burn”, which are: Best Female Artist of the Year, MV of the Year and Hit of the Summer. And J-Hope was not left behind, with the release of “Jack In The Box”, the BTS member is up for grabs in the categories: Best Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“MORE”) and Collaboration of the Year with the track “Rush Hour” by artist Crush.

New Categories 

Each year, PAK adds new categories to the awards in order to embrace new audiences and, of course, this year was no different. PAK 2022 features three new categories: Best Supporting Actor of the Year, Best Supporting Actress of the Year, and Best Reality Show of the Year. 

In the Supporting Actor category, the following stand out: Kim Min Gue (“A Business Proposal”), Kang Ki Young (“Extraordinary Attorney Woo”), Jang Seung Jo (“Snowdrop”), Yoon Jong Hoon (“Sh**ting Stars”), Hwang Min Hyun (“Alchemy of Souls”), Yun Ji On (“Tomorrow”), Baek Hyun Jin (“Happiness”), Kim Sung Cheol (“Our Beloved Summer”) Kim Joo Heon (“Big Mouth”) and Ha Joon (“Crazy Love”). 

As for Best Supporting Actress, the nominees are: Seol In Ah (“A Business Proposal”), Park Jin Joo (“Our Beloved Summer”), Kim Hye Eun (“Twenty Five, Twenty One”), Ok Ja Yeon (“Big Mouth”), Park So Jin (“Sh**ting Stars”), Kim Hye Yoon (“Snowdrop”), Jung Eugene (“Match Vip”), Won Jin Ah (“Hellbound”), Lee Yoo Mi (“All of Us Are Dead”) and Jeon Hye Jin (“My Liberation Notes”). 

Finally, highlighting South Korean entertainment, the nominees for the Best Reality Show category are: Queendom 2, Merry Queer, Change Days – Couples in Crisis 2, Young Actors’ Retreat and In The Soop: Friendcation. 

Other editions 

Last year, the PAK had the participation of the band Rolling Quartz, the groups OmegaX, 2Z and several other artists. In addition, the delivery of the awards was made by the biggest Brazilian influencers such as Thais Genaro, Anderson Vieira and the voice actor Lucas Viana. 

The second edition of PAK surpassed more than 2.5 million votes. The number represented a high leap compared to 2019, when the award received more than 370 thousand votes.

The PAK is an award designed by K4US. The event aims to entertain and give visibility to the community of Korean pop culture fans in Brazil, opening space for them to express, in a fun and interactive way, their tastes and preferences in the South Korean pop culture segment – ​​including, enabling the coming of more artists to Brazil, bringing international recognition to the Brazilian community.
