First, we would like to thank you for the opportunity of doing the interview, especially after your amazing work on “See You In My 19th Life”, which reached the Top 10 of the most watched series in Brazil. It is a pleasure being able to talk with you.

Hello. I’m the actor Ahn Bo Hyun, who played Moon Seo Ha in the “See You In My 19th Life” k-drama. First of all, I would like to thank all the Brazilian viewers who watched the k-drama and I wanted to tell you that I’m very happy. It’s a pleasure being able to do this interview.

And, to begin with, we would like to know what led you to work in this production? What have caught your attention in this k-drama?

I already watched director Lee Na Jeong’s productions and had the desire to work together with her when the opportunity came. This time, I could participate in this piece because of a good opportunity. And, of course, it seemed interesting for me the storyline where Moon Seo Ha goes through a trauma that happened in his childhood and couldn’t get over his first love, meeting happiness again through eventual meetings with Ban Ji Eum in a romantic and amazing way.

“See You In My 19th Life” is displayed worldwide by Netflix. Here in Brazil, moreover, I was dubbed in Portuguese. What do you think of having this global amplitude? Did you already had the curiosity of looking how your voice turned out to be in other languages?

I never thought about that. Knowing that my character that is played by me, with my voice, is being dubbed in other languages is curious and makes me excited.

Besides “See You In My 19th Life”, here in Brazil, “Yumi’s Cells” also was a huge success. Despite being different characters, your work as Woong and Seo Ha have an innocence and sweetness in their romantic relationships. Could you use a little of your experience in “Yumi’s Cells” to play Seo Ha?

The character Goo Woong in “Yumi’s Cells” and Moon Seo Ha’s character in “See You In My 19th Life” are very different in their personalities and situations. Because of that, I’m the type that is faithful to the script of each work and focuses on the feelings of each one rather than using the experiences of other works.

Still talking about Seo Ha, the way that the character deals with their problems and thinks about life is diving into a pool. What do you do when you need to disconnect of the world and be immersed in your own thoughts?

I listen to piano or a calm song and get stuck on my thoughts.

“See You In My 19th Life”, “Itaewon Class” and “Yumi’s Cells”. Your main works are adaptations of very famous webtoons. In recent years, adaptations of this type have been increasingly common on TV. Why do you think viewers are so interested in these works?

Webtoons that have interesting themes and plots are getting more and more famous. With that said, I believe that the public is showing even more interest in pieces based on webtoons because of that.

Also, do you have the habit of reading webtoons? Is there one of them that you would like to have an adaptation for a k-drama and you were within the cast?

I don’t usually read webtoons. Of the webtoons that I had fun reading, there is one called “Castle” that I often catch myself being curious to see how this story would turn out on the screen.

In some way, working in an adaptation makes you feel more pressured? Working with an original script should be more peaceful because there is no pressure from fans, for example, from a big successful webtoon. Or are we mistaken?

I always do my best to play a character regardless of whether or not there’s a base work. However, when the production has an original work, the fandom is huge. Because of that, I give my best to improve the synchrony with the character for those who like the original story.

Of all the characters that you played until now, which one of them you think it was the most hard one to play and the most easiest one?

There doesn’t exist an easy character to play and each character has their own unique charm. Because of that, I have a huge affection for all the characters that I played until now.

Is there any character that you relate the most with? Why?

I think it’s hard to choose a single character because I tried hard to identify and express all the characters I’ve played to date when preparing for the work.

Here in Brazil, you have a legion of incredible fans. How about you leave a message for your Brazilian fans?

Hello, I’m the actor Ahn Bo Hyun. First of all, I would like to say thank you so much for all the love and care that you guys give me from afar, in Brazil. I will improve myself to show my best throughout new future works, so I hope that you guys wait and continue to show a lot of love and care. Besides that, I also wait for a day where I will meet the Brazilian fans personally visiting Brazil when the opportunity comes.
